Privacy Policy
The short version
Your swing videos are private by default. Other InSync Motion members cannot watch them unless you turn that on in Profile. A coach whose invitation you accepted can watch the videos of the athletes on their roster, which is how coach review works. Your detailed report is private in the same way: your written breakdown, weaknesses, drill plan and movement measurements are visible only to you and to a coach you have accepted.
Some things you can choose to publish outside the app entirely, by making a link. Those are always your decision and you can switch them off.
We do not sell your data, we do not run ads, and we do not use your videos to train anyone else's AI.
What we collect
Account information you give us: your name, username, email address if you provide one, whether you are a player or a coach, your batting or throwing side, and your age group if you enter one.
For an athlete under 13: a record that a parent or guardian created and approved the account, and the date they did.
Training videos you upload or record for analysis.
Analysis results we generate from your videos: scores, grades, category scores, movement and body-position measurements, and AI coaching notes.
Coaching added by a coach you have accepted: written notes, and drawings saved onto a frame of your video.
If you build a recruiting package: the academic details you type into it, which can include your GPA, SAT and ACT scores, and your guardian's email address if you ask them to approve it.
If you buy analysis credits: a record of the purchase. Apple handles the payment and we never see your card details.
Server records needed to run and secure the service, such as the time of a request and errors. The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking software of any kind.
How we use it
To analyze your video and build your report: our engine measures your movement and an AI generates your scores and coaching notes. Selected frames from your video are processed by AI service providers under contract with us for this purpose only, and those providers do not use them to train their models.
To run the features you use: your feed, your progress over time, leaderboards, drill recommendations, coach review while you are on a coach's roster, and any link you choose to create.
To improve InSync Motion, fix problems, and keep the service secure.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use your data for advertising.
What other people can see
When you post a session, signed-in InSync Motion members can see your name, your score, grade and category scores, and the session can appear on leaderboards. Whether they can also watch the video is a separate setting, and it starts switched off.
You can turn it on at any time: Profile, then 'Let other players watch my swing videos'. With it off, your videos can be watched only by you and by a coach you have accepted.
PARENTS, PLEASE READ THIS ONE. The video setting above starts switched OFF, including on an account created for a child, so there is nothing you need to switch off. Other members can see your athlete's name and score but cannot watch the video unless you turn that on. A coach whose invitation your athlete accepted can watch it, because reviewing an athlete's swing is what a coach is there to do, and removing that coach ends their access immediately. Nobody outside InSync Motion can see any of it unless you create a link, and no search engine can find it.
Always private to you: your written breakdown, your weaknesses, your drill plan and your movement measurements. A coach you have accepted can see these; other members never can.
A coach you remove loses access immediately, including to anything they had written or drawn on your sessions.
Links you create, which leave the app
Sending one swing: you can create a link to a single session so someone without the app, such as a hitting coach or a relative, can open it in a browser. That page shows the video, your first name, your score and your five category scores. It shows nothing else: no username, no surname, no age, no academics and no other sessions.
A recruiting package: you can create a link that shows a college coach several sessions along with the season and academic details you chose to include. If you are under 13, or if your account is parent-managed, a guardian is emailed and must approve it before the link works.
Anyone holding one of these links can open it without an account, so treat a link like the video itself. Swing links stop working after 14 days, recruiting links after 90, and you can switch either off at any moment in the app. You can also see how many times a link has been opened.
Someone who opens a link can use it to create their own InSync Motion account while the app is in early access. It gives them no access to anything of yours beyond what the link already showed them.
Kids and parents
An athlete under 13 uses InSync Motion only through a parent-managed account. The parent or guardian creates the account, agrees to this policy, and is the person we treat as being in charge of it. This is a rule in the product, not a setting: the account cannot be created without that affirmation, and an existing account cannot be moved into an under-13 age group afterwards.
We collect from a child only what is described in 'What we collect' above, and we do not ask a child for anything beyond what the app needs to analyze a swing.
A parent or guardian can review the athlete's videos and analysis, change who can watch them, delete individual sessions, switch off any link, and delete the entire account at any time, from inside the app.
Under the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, a parent or guardian may ask us what we hold about their child, ask us to delete it, and refuse any further collection. Email us at the address below and we will do it. If you believe a child has used InSync Motion without a parent's consent, tell us and we will delete the account and its videos.
Where your data lives
Videos and analysis are stored on secured infrastructure in the United States, with access limited to what is needed to run the service. Traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted, and video files are served through links that expire.
If you are outside the United States, your information is processed there.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and your sessions while your account is active.
Deleting a session deletes the video, the still image taken from it, and any drawings a coach saved onto it. Deleting your account removes your profile, your videos and your analysis from the service, and switches off every link you had created.
You can do both yourself in the app, or email us and we will do it for you.
Your choices
Choose whether other members can watch your videos, in Profile.
Create a link only when you want to, and switch it off whenever you want to.
Choose whether to include academic details in a recruiting package, or leave them out.
Delete a session, or your whole account, in the app, at any time.
Ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it, at the contact below.
Changes
InSync Motion is early in its life and this policy will change as the product does. If we make a material change we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
